The journey

After the October we had I really needed this reminder. Because I did not feel comfortable in our home, I did not want to spend much time there. All of us felt the effects of the space in different ways. But there was a silver lining for me in that I was out and about in the community more than I had been up to this point. I made hiking friends; I set up play dates for the girls; I attended two women’s circles; we visited with Eddy at our old building every Saturday to chat and to swim; I sat with a stranger at a cafe on a rainy day so we could share a table with an umbrella; I joined a women’s surfing club; I started volunteering at La Paz, helping with lunch service which is a lovely way to practice my Spanish while chatting with the other women serving lunch; I met the garden coordinator at the La Paz Tempisque campus who is very inspiring and shares my passion for agriculture and creating vibrant growing spaces; I drove many hours by myself through the countryside to this other campus to help work in the gardens; I danced and exercised more than I have of late and am getting stronger. The month was great in so many ways.
