The girls and I get ready to party in Las Catalinas (a small, compact, car-free town inspired by Mediterranean hill towns). The town literally lies at the end of the road and is about 15 minutes from where we live. This was the first time since Covid hit that the Día de la Mascarada/Halloween party was back in action.

A pumpkin piñata on the beach!
Lydia liked the games of chance. Tess enjoyed the bouncy house obstacle course and slide. My favorite part was the drum circle open to all, and Dave liked people watching and chatting with friends with a beer in his hand at our home base table.
The traditional Día de la Mascarada ‘gigantes’ came out to dance towards the end of the night. I didn’t realize we would get to see them so this was a fun surprise!
Lydia was insistent that I get a video of her riding the mechanical bull!
