We surfed as a family today! We are getting spoiled with the green season. There is no one around and we are trying to take advantage. Meaning, it is the perfect time to learn to surf! So, even though there was pelting rain at times, the girls had their first surf lesson today and Dave and I had our second.

We were pretty much the only ones on the beach. We think this gives us extra adventure points. We felt totally safe with our instructor out there with us. In any case, the waves were so big and powerful that we were only ready for the white water at this point.

Vidier is an excellent teacher. He is very patient and wanted to make sure the girls (especially Tess who was the most hesitant) had fun.

Tess popped up more than once. Vidier set her up on the wave and never let go to make sure she felt safe and secure.

We need to get these girls some board shorts. Tess had to sit out towards the end because she was getting some serious board rash on her legs.

As we suspected Lydia was all in. She asked if we could go again tomorrow. She got good enough that Vidier finally let her ride on her own.

We took lessons through a place that is also a hostel, so we got to take a dip in the pool after our time in the ocean. Pura vida!!!!
