We’ve had some big swells lately and Tess and I have noticed the increase in trash and debris that is washing up with the waves. We know this is a problem worldwide, on popular beaches and very remote ones, but it is still disheartening. No matter how much we pick up there is more to come, threatening the health of the ocean and the creatures that live there. From the macro to the micro, the amount of trash we’ve seen on just our home beach is sobering. And some of it has been cruising around for awhile already, as evidenced by the flip flop above encrusted with sea life. We don’t have the answers, but are inspired to keep looking for them and doing what we can.
